Featured artist at Tierra for December, 2010;

Nicole Paisley Martensen

  Nicole Paisley Martensen exhibits small works:  found photographs encased in beeswax encaustic and vintage portrait folios, tiny shrines devoted to the magical cult of Nature and the making of the American West, antique jewelry disassembled and then transformed with found treasures and delicate brass findings.

Says Martensen:  "Each piece inspires its own narrative.  These are Dustbowl stories, keyhole views culled from scraps of old wallpaper and lost spelling bees."  This will be an evolving cash-and-carry show through December.
